A New Literary Genre

The Bibliophile New & Used Bookstore at Hayes and Gough puts out inexpensive remainder books on the sidewalk, and this last week were featuring a new literary category, "Cheap Lesbian Fiction."

It got me to thinking about what the genre might entail. "There were these two hot policewomen at Dolores Park on Sunday and we had one of them take our picture, and the next thing we knew..."

Cheap Lesbian Fiction! Clearly, a niche genre that you may have launched into the center of the national literary consciousness. LOL!

Was the movie Bound made from a book found in that wine box, or was that movie the inspiration for every book in the box?

Is "cheap" modifying Lesbian or Fiction or both? Either or any way, hot damn!

Dear Mike: I was once a purveyor -- or at least a flunky for a publisher -- of lesbian fiction. Let me assure you, there is lots of the stuff, mostly of the same quality as most cheap fiction. Your cops would fit in perfectly. We continue to hope for better. :-)
