Donald Kinney at the Mill Valley Library

Mill Valley has one of the most beautiful public libraries in the world...

...with a basement floor hovering in the middle of a redwood forest.

On Tuesday evening, there was an opening reception for Donald Kinney's first, long-overdue, one-man photography show.

Donald has an uneasy relationship with the art world, distrusting its commerce, but he's a complete artist nonetheless and his nature photography is as good as anything out there.

Just as Oracle CEO Larry Ellison rotates his valuable Japanese art collection at his Woodside estate, I also rotate Donald Kinney's art on my living room wall according to the season. What could be lovelier?
