SF Symphony Opening 2: Plenty of Well Dressed Locals
The symphony concert in the middle of the gala is just a small part of the night's annual festivities.
The evening started with a pair of dinners in a tent next to Davies Symphony Hall and in City Hall a block away.
This was followed by a champagne promenade in the lobby...
...which was a treasure trove of people watching...
...especially over the shoulder of the inimitable Beth Spotswood interviewing the socialites.
After the concert, everyone repaired either to the tent next door where there was a dance band...
...and decorative banquettes...
...or you could walk to City Hall which was lit up golden.
There was more delicious finger food...
...and except for a pair of ugly floral arrangements that looked more appropriate for a funeral, the seat of city government couldn't have looked lovelier.
