Don't Cry For Me, San Francisco
Six hours after the "Support Ed Jew Rally" on City Hall's stairs, another identity politics group assembled for the unfurling of the Rainbow Flag from the Mayor's Balcony to initiate Gay Pride Week or Fortnight or Month or whatever it's being called these days.
State Assemblyman Mark Leno and San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano met each other in front of City Hall for an amused conversation.
Inside City Hall, in front of the Mayor's Office on the second floor, there was a small crowd of gawkers and VIPs...
...waiting to be serenaded by a small band...
...and a contingent from the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus.
There was a slightly larger crowd outside who presumably wanted to see the unfurling of the rainbow flag over a Celebrity Panel from the AIDS Quilt.
California State Senator Carole Migden looked like she was going to climb out onto the flagpole to sing a rendition of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina," but I didn't stay long enough to find out if she actually did so.

That small band is made up of musicians from the Winds of Freedom / Gay Marching Band in SF. I used to play with them, several years ago.
Ha ha!
Come on, somebody just give her a little nudge.
carole migden spoke at trans march, and she was actually pretty amusing - she declared her proclamation "cuter" than the other proclamation, and then proceeded to argue with one of the Sisters about which of them was older? it was silly, but not as tedious as it could have been.
