A sad new tradition for Mother's Day has sprung up in front of City Hall, where the mothers and other relatives of murdered young people in San Francisco hold a small annual vigil.
Joining the group were current Supervisors and mayoral candidates John Avalos (above left) and David Chiu (above right).
