San Francisco Jazz Festival Outdoor Concert
The SFJAZZ Center celebrated the 33rd anniversary of their summer Jazz Festival with a free outdoor concert last Tuesday evening a block from their new concert hall in the Hayes Valley.
The setting was the blacktop area on Hayes Street called Proxy, across from Patricia's Green...
...surrounded by food trucks and long lines for the single beer vendor.
Wind and fog were at their traditional San Francisco summer intensity...
...so it wasn't a particularly comfortable listening experience but the music was good.
Maybe SFJAZZ Director Randall Kline above will move the event next year to earlier in the afternoon when the chances for sun are better. For a look at this year's festival schedule, click here.

Do they still have the Stern Grove concerts? Very wonderful musical experiences but it could be so cold there.
Yes, the Stern Grove concerts still exist, and yes, they still have wonderful musicians, and yes, they're still usually too frigging cold. They are also a pain in the ass to get to on public transportation, and it's a mostly wealthy white Westside scene which isn't a very interesting audience. So I don't go.
