Year of The Horse Celebration at the Asian

Last Sunday afternoon, there was an hour-long music and dance performance by students at the Asian Art Museum from the Chinese American International School...

...which I stumbled across as it was ending, and a parental camera orgy was in full swing.

Tuition at the bilingual immersion program at the Hayes Valley K-8 school is $23,406 a year...

...and is probably worth every penny...

...if only to weed out the riffraff.

It's all so artificial, but isn't everything these days?

My mind boggles at that tuition. It sure brings home how much money some are making. I guess these are our future masters?

Dear Nancy: That tuition may actually be on the inexpensive side for private grade school tuition in San Francisco. Schools of the Sacred Heart and their brethren are probably charging more. In fact, University High School is currently charging $37,200 per annum.

$37,200 per annum? Good grief - that's almost as much as I made as a full time worker at UCSF.I am obviously not in line to be one of the 1%.
