Hot, Melting Snowboy
Last Saturday, on one of the warmest days of the year, a snowboarding exhibition was set up in the space between the Main Library and the Asian Art Museum.
The event was supposed to take place between noon and three but everyone from the DJ to the snowboarders seemed to be late, so the packed ice being used as faux snow started melting all over the street.
We returned to the exhibition at 1PM and watched them try to pack more ice onto the course, but when the emcee announced that it was going to be another 20 or 30 minutes before the show started, we gave up.
Let's hope the stunt artists were able to do their thing before Indian Summer made the event disappear altogether.

Did they truck all that snowy stuff in big bags? I'd think they'd use a snow-making machine. Looks like way too much work.
Yes, they did truck all that snowy stuff in big bags rather than use a snow-making machine. And yes, it seemed like a huge amount of work for a half-assed event.
