...Patrick Dougherty's sapling sculpture, "The Upper Crust," is more than holding its own.
With the sycamore trees pruned back to their Winter Solstice nubs...
...the sculptures are once again standing out in bold relief.
It will be sad when they are taken down in February...
...because after a year, they feel a part of the neighborhood.

ReplyDeletehas their been a petition started to save this art installation? i mean, we have some big bow-n-arrow on the embarcadero, why must we always make SF uncool and remove art that gives an area a defining feature?
ReplyDeleteDear k: It was always designed to be taken down and destroyed (rather than rotting away) by the artist, Patrick Dougherty.
