Visually Impaired Art
Though the concept of blind and visually impaired artists seems like an oxymoron, the annual "Insights" art show in San Francisco City Hall's basement proves that is not the case.
It seems that the need to focus on what little sight one has left...
...sometimes produces startling flashes of vision.
Though I don't think the show is as strong as last year's edition (click here), there are still some wonderful pieces by a range of artists working with everything from oils to watercolor to sculpture...
...and even the 18-year-old exhibition's first cartoonist.
As a member of the public, you're invited to the opening reception at City Hall, this Thursday the 11th from 5:30 to 7:30. It's usually a very good party, with most of the artists in attendance, and best of all, most of the work is up for sale at very reasonable prices. (Click here for more details.)
