Medical Sabbatical
I've been having breathing problems for the last couple of weeks and finally got a chest X-ray today, which makes it look like pneumonia, so I'm being checked into the hospital for IV antibiotics and oxygen in about an hour. Since I HATE hospitals, this is not something I'm particularly looking forward to, but it looks like the only way I'll live another day.
Talk to you all later.
This Witch will keep you in her prayers, dear Mike.
ReplyDeleteI too have lived through pneumonia. Prepare for a long haul to recovery.
Be strong, dear fellow.
best wishes, my friend. i hope you feel better quickly, and i'm glad you got it checked out.
ReplyDeletemike boy...good recovery and take care....
ReplyDeletesee you soon.
Dear Michael,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your illness. I am sending you all the healing vibes I can muster.
love
Miss Chris O (aka Kate Rain)
Michael - I am thinking of you - good luck

Your kind words were very comforting last month when my cat died, and I've been following your blog ever since. Happy thoughts and good wishes coming to you from Texas. Be well soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, gang, though the staff at the small hospital I was at in the Castro (used to be called Davies) was really a pleasant crew, the horrible food and the constant sleep deprivation was disgusting.
ReplyDeleteSo when my doctor told me I could leave if I wanted and just take pills, I jumped up and cheered and so I'm back home in Civic Center.
And your healing vibes worked. Thank you so much, everyone.
Next time call me and I'll bring you over sustenance and homemade cookies and beer.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Mike :)
ReplyDeleteCan you stand some unsolicited pneumonia recovery advice from this twice bitten witch?
Eat very well.
Rest but don't vegitate.
Finish the Rx.
Sugar = the enemy.
Enenmy = sugar - ok - then no cookies
ReplyDeleteI could make farmers market vegetable soup instead?
Dear Witch: Thanks for the simple and good advice. And Sam: I don't think anything would please me more in the world right now than a good vegetable or lentil soup in my fridge. No hurry, by the way. I'm going to be on the Rx for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteKeep well. Don't let the Doctors bite.
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts are with you. (Even if they are coming from the dreaded LoCal area near LaLa!)
;-)
Hey, Mike. We missed your good energy at the vigil. I hope you're doing well. I'm sure it will go much better at home than in the hospital.
ReplyDeletewhat are your favourite (seasonal) vegetables??
ReplyDeleteDear Sam:
ReplyDeletePlease surprise me. The only thing I really don't like is eggplant and brussell sprouts, but they don't usually go in soups anyway, do they?
Thanks for the thought.
