El Rio is a community center, isn't it, blessed as it is by the goddess Carmen Miranda.<br />I've been shocked & skeptical about the Examiner/Guardian rumor all week, but agree that SFBG has long lost its edge along with some of its dignity. That said, there's never been a bigger need for local & state investigative journalism and that requires not only dedicated writers but some deep pockets. Where are the 'angel' tech zillionaires who might fund quality content, not just chit chat re-tweet engines? Why isn't real journalism in the civic interest any longer? I love me some smoke as much as the next San Franciscan, but things do seem a bit hazy around here lately.DbVhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03164787889301904149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11380345.post-3807547294687094502012-04-23T16:36:38.300-07:002012-04-23T16:36:38.300-07:00The Guardian is in the terminal stages of journali...The Guardian is in the terminal stages of journalistic cancer. The break no news anymore, they have no insight into what's going on ,and the progressive movement is flailing away. They thought suing the Weekly would save them, but it didn't. Hope they smoked some great product the other day, they need it.Greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02639710572191340548noreply@blogger.com
