Alto a La Guerra

The Veterans Day Parade took place on the main drag of Palm Canyon Boulevard Tuesday afternoon in Palm Springs.

After the Marine Corps Band had marched up the street, followed by a few tanks and trucks, a more somber and ragtag group of veterans pulled up the rear...

...including a contingent of Vietnam Veterans...

...and gay veterans.

My favorites were the Veterans for Peace group...

...especially their Latin-American contingent.

At the end of the parade, most of the crowd walked down the street to a Marine Corps Band recital...

...including the local teen hipsters.

Dear Rob: It was lovely enough that we booked a flight back during Thanksgiving. See you down there.

"Stroke recovery center" in photo #1... does that refer to Palm Springs proper, or to the entire Coachella Valley? ;)
